Finding a Good Color Combination for Your Wedding Theme

For plenty of bride-to-bes, choosing the color they would want to use as the theme or motif for their wedding day is a no-brainer. It is simply the color they have grown to love over the years, a favorite color of theirs that simply relaxes and makes them feel comfortable in. While this is an easy decision for most bride-to-bes, there are others that have a difficult time in picking out the color they will be using for their big day. Moreover, choosing one color can already be a lot for them to choose from– let alone a color combination. If you are among the bride-to-bes who are having difficulty in choosing the colors you want to use for your wedding, here are some things to consider in picking out the right colors:

Location of the Ceremony and Reception

If you find picking the right color combination a difficult task for you, an option is to base it on the location on where you will be getting married. Try to visit the venue and see which colors dominate the walls, carpets, lighting, curtains, and more. This is a good way you can pick out colors to use for your wedding without having too much trouble in picking them out.

Season of the Wedding

Another way you can have an easy time in picking out colors to use for your wedding is to go with the dominating colors during the season when you are scheduled to get married. For example, if you are getting married on February, you may go with a white, red, and pink color combination as a symbolism of Valentine’s Day. Or if you have plans for a Fall wedding, you may go with rustic color choices like red, orange, and yellow.     Complementary Colors – On a color wheel, these colors are situated opposite one another. Some examples include red and green, blue and orange.
    Analogous Colors – These colors are the ones which are situated right beside each other. Examples of these color combinations are green, lime green, and blue green.
    Monochromatic Colors – Compared to other colors, these are the ones that have a similar tone no matter what variation is being used–dark red, bright red, etc.
